No-Thing

A place of emptiness

A point, a dot, a void of nothingness

Oh but wait, what is it that i feel

A pulse, a beat, a starting of a new beginning

Is this where it all ends

Or is this where it all begins

The Northern Star

Growing up a story I had heard

Story of a boy who was but a prince

A prince of a kingdom where wealth knew no bounds

Prosperity lay bowed at his feet

He could get what he laid his eyes on

And yet he felt an emptiness

He felt he did not belong

The treasures belonged to the people, the land belonged to the earth

The throne that would soon become his belonged to his step brother

There was not an inch of place he could call his own

Wherever he landed belonged to someone else

In his desolation, he prayed and prayed

Asked for a boon where he could be permanently placed

And then the boon was given

And he was made into a star in heaven

With a spot so permanent

We earthlings call upon it for guidance
